What We BELIEVE

 

The POWER of the WORD

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God (1Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21, Hebrews 4:12).  We believe that we should not only speak the Word, but should live the Word (James 1:22).

 

The POWER of GOD

We believe there is ONE GOD, the Powerful and Almighty Creator of the universe, eternally existent in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19).

 

The POWER of JESUS CHRIST

We believe that God manifested Himself through our LORD JESUS CHRIST in His virgin   birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, and His ascension to the right Hand of the Father, and His personal future return to this earth in POWER and glory (John 3:16, Matthew 1:18-20).

 

The POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the baptism of the HOLY SPIRIT, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it, with the evidence of "speaking in tongues."  We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit.  We believe this POWER comes through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit into the physical body enabling every Christian to live a HOLY LIFE (Acts 1:18, Mark 16:17).

 

The POWER of FELLOWSHIP

We believe in the church as a strong fellowship.  The first century church’s disciples of Jesus shared and cared for one another, experiencing both giving and receiving according to Acts 2:42-47.  They met on a regular basis, sharing the Word, having communion, praying and worshipping together, etc. We believe that every believer has and is a contributing part of the Body of Christ. All are important in God’s eyes and all work together to establish His Kingdom on the earth (Romans 12:3-8, 1 Corinthians 12:14-27, Ephesians 4:16).

 

The POWER of LOVE

As believers, we are obligated to reach out and bring the love of God to all mankind, not only in words, but also in deeds by reaching out to the poor, the hungry, the sick, the homeless, the prisoners…to the least and the lost. We acknowledge that faith is active in love and that God has called us to share His love in practical ways (Matthew 25:43-44).

 

The POWER of GIVING

For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only begotten Son. We are His children, so giving should be a natural part of the Christian life. It is better to give than to receive.  We believe that God will bless a joyful giver. Giving includes both tithing, offerings and alms (Malachi 3:8-12, Acts 10:4, Luke 6:38).

The POWER of FORGIVENESS

We believe that we should live every day in forgiveness, in communion with God and standing with integrity for each other.   As much as we can on a daily basis, we should strive to live in peace, unity and forgiveness with everyone.  We believe by forgiving others we can receive forgiveness ourselves.  Through God’s forgiveness, we can set ourselves free from the pain of our past and fully embrace the gift of today (Matthew 6:12, Matthew 11:26).

 

The POWER of RESTORATION

We believe all things are possible through Jesus Christ. Since God does not show favoritism, He has given us POWER to become a new creation through Jesus Christ. We believe that people can be fully restored in their body, soul and spirit through the POWER of His blood unto salvation.   We believe in the POWER of His name to preach the good news of salvation, healing and deliverance to all mankind (John 1:12, Romans 2:11, 1 Corinthians 1:18, Acts 4:12, Hebrews 9:14).

 

The POWER and the GLORY

We believe and work for God’s Kingdom, His POWER and His Glory to come on earth as it is in heaven. That is our prayer. Our heartfelt desire is for everything we say and do   at POWERHOUSE Church may demonstrate His POWER, bring glory to God, and benefit his Kingdom, not only locally, but all over the world (Matthew 6:13).
